FIRST FLOOR REMODEL
Primary goal was to have a great, large kitchen, and owners were convinced that they needed an addition. Through the designing and a virtual reality walk through, we found that by opening the wall and stealing a little room from the dining room, they could create a spacious kitchen, in addition to adding a half bathroom.
BASEMENT SUITE
My favorite projects are converting gross basements into great apartments, and he is a 650 square foot two bedroom apartment I designed and built into a 1887 house in Powderhorn Park.
BASEMENT APARTMENT
The most recent apartment finished, built as an Airbnb rental, so the kitchen isn’t as large as possible, but we did create two good sized bedrooms, and a cozy common space.
ATTIC REMODEL

ATTIC REMODEL - FINISHED
Here’s the attic at the completion of the project, with oak floors, exposed chimney brick, and a long desk with the casement window above, and privacy picture window below (built into the original opening).
Modeling powerlines
In 2012, we found out that the state was planning high voltage transmission lines through our meditation retreat property. We modeled how the line would impact views across the property.
CityKid Farm on the Greenway
Development plans for the Urban Ventures urban farm in south Minneapolis, planning for a shipping container cafe and walk in cooler, greenhouse, and outdoor dining space.
New staircase
It’s rare to build a new staircase, and when we do, it’s barely possible, as you’re trying to build the stairs to current code, while the older stairs they have to work around were built steeper. It takes a lot of planning to verify it’s possible before tearing open the floors.
Two story deck plans
Detailed framing plans in 3D built for a client who planned to build their deck themselves.
